#ScamProofMe242 Social Media Challenge
The Securities Commission of The Bahamas is challenging YOU to create a 30–60 second video that shows how you spot scams, avoid fraud, or protect yourself online.
The #ScamProofMe242 Challenge is part of our World Investor Week 2025 initiatives to empower young Bahamians to fight back against frauds and scams.
Scammers are getting smarter — but so are you. Share your tips, skits, or creative ideas — and you could win amazing prizes while helping to scam-proof your peers!
Who Can Enter
- Bahamian citizens/residents 18 years of age or older.
- An individual or a group of no more than three individuals.
How To Enter
- Create a 30–60 second video showing a scam red flag, a tip to stay safe, or your best scam-proofing practice.
- Post it on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.
- Use the hashtag #ScamProofMe242 in your caption.
- Tag the Securities Commission’s account so we can see your entry.
- Submit your entry (by adding the #ScamProofMe242 hashtag) anytime between Monday 6 October and Sunday 12 October 2025.
- You must be following the Securities Commission of The Bahamas social media accounts.

Prizes
- 1st: $1500
- 2nd: $1000
- 3rd: $500
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged on:
- Clarity of Message – Is the tip easy to understand?
- Accuracy – Is the advice correct, and will it help to “scam-proof” viewers?
- Creativity – Is it original, engaging, or fun?
Rules & Guidelines
- Videos must be between 30–60 seconds.
- Entries must use #ScamProofMe242 and tag @securitiescommission.bah.
- Keep it appropriate, positive, and respectful — no offensive content.
- You may submit multiple entries, but participants are only eligible for one prize.
- By entering, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and submission for promotional purposes related to the challenge.
- You must be following the Securities Commission of The Bahamas social media accounts.
- All submissions must be original work by the participant.
- Entries must not infringe on third-party rights (music, images, trademarks).
- The Securities Commission of The Bahamas reserves the right to disqualify or not consider entries that are incomplete, inappropriate, or misleading.
- The decision of the judges if final.
- Employees of the Commission and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
- Participation is free.
